Client: Encore at Salisbury Playhouse
Encore is the restaurant based at Salisbury Playhouse, providing a cafe, bar and restaurant service prior to Playhouse Shows. Encore also offers outdoor catering and is open to non-show goers as a restaurant in its own right.
The brief...
To create a new corporate ID for the Restaurant utilising the brand new name Encore. To incorporate the three areas of Encore – Restaurant, Cafe and Bar – developing corporate colours from which internal decorations, uniforms and table cloths etc would be chosen. The development of the brand was to be immediately used in the creation of Menus and Menu Covers, Business Cards and Exhibition Graphics for Encore’s launch.
Our approach
We developed logo concepts along with colour options for the client to choose and feedback on. This was an important stage as the client had to consider uniforms, interiors and furniture in the decision making process. We chose Menu Covers that were a charcoal grey with silver flecks and a simple silver embossed logo to create a sophisticated but inclusive look. The Logo itself was designed to represent the fact the restaurant exists in its own right as a contemporary eatery, as well as being a subsidiary element to the more traditional Salisbury Playhouse. The focus on the word ‘Encore’ as a font style logo as opposed to an image logo was important in establishing the identity of the restaurant and its name.
The client said...
Addison Design created a great brand identity. It works really well, as Encore is hired out for private functions so needs a separate identity to the Playhouse. We are really pleased with the menus, both the cover and menu template as well as all the banners and flags that Addison have produced for us. Nothing is too much trouble for these chaps and they rally care about our brand.
